  • Chuck’s Biography

    Charles C. Murray, a partner in Atlas, Hall & Rodriguez, LLP, began his litigation practice with the firm in August 1972.

    The focus of his practice is complex commercial litigation, including lender liability and professional malpractice.

    Chuck received his B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin in 1968 and his J.D. with honors from the University of Texas School of Law in 1972 where he was an Associate Editor of the Texas Law Review and a member of Order of the Coif. Chuck was admitted to the Texas bar in 1972 and has practiced with Atlas, Hall & Rodriguez, LLP since that time.

    In 2005 – 2018, Chuck was named a Texas Super Lawyer as awarded by Thompson Reuters and published in Super Lawyers/Texas Monthly magazine. Chuck’s professional memberships include the following: Fellow, American College of Trial Lawyers; Fellow, Texas Bar Foundation; Member, Hidalgo County Bar Association; and Member, Texas Association of Defense Counsel. He has served as a vice president and director of the Texas Association of Defense Counsel, a director of the Texas Law Review Association, a member of the State Committee of the American College of Trial Lawyers, an officer of Hidalgo County Bar Association, a director of the Texas Law Alumni Association, a member of the District 12 B Grievance Committee, and a director of the Texas Bar Foundation. Chuck has been a speaker and author at numerous continuing education seminars for attorneys on topics such as class actions, the defense of legal malpractice claims, and the defense of claims under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act.

    Chuck has been active in community affairs. He has served as lay leader, Sunday school teacher, finance committee chairman, and treasurer of the First United Methodist Church of McAllen. He has also served on the board and as treasurer of the McAllen International Museum.
