Allison is a transplant to the great state of Texas, originally hailing from Marshfield, Wisconsin. Allison graduated from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities with bachelor of arts degree in Spanish and Anthropology. She obtained her law degree from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. During law school, she received the Upper Midwest Human Rights Fellowship, and through the fellowship she interned with Proyecto Libertad in Harlingen. After law school, Allison practiced law at an immigration firm in San Antonio before moving to the Rio Grande Valley. Allison is a member of the State Bar of Texas.
