  • Joe’s Biography

    Joseph M. Habbouche joined Atlas, Hall & Rodriguez, LLP in July, 2007 as an associate in the transactional section and concentrates his practice in the areas of real estate transactions and business matters, including entity formation, intellectual property rights and business and asset acquisitions.

    Joe was elected as an equity partner of the firm in January, 2012. Joe was elected as managing partner of the firm in February, 2022.

    Joe was raised in the Midwest and graduated cum laude from the University of Michigan in 2001 with a B.A. in political science where he was a member of the Delta Epsilon Iota National Honor Society. In 2002, he graduated summa cum laude from the University of Toledo with a M.A. in philosophy. Joe was a member of the Faculty Senate, Academic Programs Committee and a member of the Graduate Student Assembly while in graduate school. Joe received his law degree cum laude from the University of Illinois College of Law in 2005.

    Joe spent two years working as an attorney at a law firm in Toledo, Ohio before moving to the Rio Grande Valley.

    Joe is licensed to practice in state courts in Ohio (2005) and Texas (2006), as well as the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio (2005), the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan (2006), the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois (2007), the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas (2007), the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas (2007) and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit (2007).

    Joe is a member of the Texas Bar Association and Hidalgo County Bar Association. He was named a Texas Bar Foundation Fellow in 2014 and Texas Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2019.

    Joe is an active member of the community and served on the Board of Trustees for the International Museum of Art and Science from 2012 to 2017, including acting as Chairman of the Board from 2014 to 2015, and he currently serves on the Board of Directors for the McAllen Chamber of Commerce. Joe is also a member of the Founder’s Group, for the McAllen Chamber of Commerce – One Million Cups.
