Joshua Cummings has been a member of Atlas, Hall & Rodriguez, LLP since 2007.
In 2018, he was part of the first ever group of attorneys certified for Property Owners Association Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and he was the only attorney to receive that certification in Hidalgo County. He is also certified to be appointed attorney ad litem in Texas probate and other courts. Mr. Cummings’ areas of practice also include but are not limited to estate planning, probate, trusts, commercial lending, guardianships, bankruptcy, foreclosures, landlord/tenant relationships, and all aspects of real estate.
Mr. Cummings was elected by his peers to serve as President of the Hidalgo County Bar Association and Hidalgo County Bar Foundation for 2015-2016. He is admitted to practice in Texas, U.S. District Court Southern District of Texas, and U.S. District Court Western District of Texas. Besides being a member of the American Bar Association, Community Association Institute (CAI), RGV Estate Planning Council, and the Texas Bar Foundation, he serves in leadership positions for the other professional associations with whom he has an affiliation.
He is a native Texan, who has been practicing in Rio Grande Valley since graduating from Baylor University with a law degree and bachelor’s degree in economics. Mr. and Mrs. Cummings are the proud parents of three daughters, who enjoy spending time playing tennis and visiting South Padre Island.
In 2021, he presented his paper on “Keeping and Production of Books and Records of POAs: Survival Tips for a World of Whataboutism” at the Advanced Property Owners Association Law: Condominium & Subdivision POA Governance seminar sponsored by the State Bar of Texas.
