Joshua Cummings is a partner at Atlas, Hall & Rodriguez, LLP, and is board-certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in two practice areas. In 2022, he was the first practicing Hidalgo County attorney in forty-one years to become certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, making him one of only three RGV attorneys with that certification. In 2018, he was part of the first group of Texas attorneys certified for Property Owners Association Law, and he is the only attorney in the RGV with that certification.
Josh is a frequent speaker at the state and local levels for legal seminars, and he brings extensive expertise in wills, estate planning, trust formation, guardianships, and probate law, helping clients safeguard their legacies and navigate complex legal matters. Whether they are young families with limited assets or high-net-worth individuals with extensive asset portfolios, Josh is ready to help. Josh also represents dozens of property owners' associations, guiding governance, compliance, and dispute resolution. He also advises clients on real estate and commercial lending transactions.
Josh earned his law and economics degrees from Baylor University. He has served as President of the Hidalgo County Bar Association and Foundation, is the current President of the Valley Symphony Orchestra, and serves on the executive committees of the McAllen Education Foundation and McAllen Country Club.
