  • Rick’s Biography

    Rick Zuniga Rick Zuniga is a native of the Rio Grande Valley and was raised in Rio Hondo, Texas. He has been a litigator with Atlas, Hall & Rodriguez, LLP since 2012.

    Rick was admitted to the Texas State Bar in 2012, the Federal Southern District of Texas in 2012, and obtained a Texas Mediation Certification in 2009.

    Prior to joining Atlas, Hall & Rodriguez, LLP, Rick interned with the Texas 13th Court of Appeals, Chief Justice Roy Valdez, Edinburg, Texas 2010; the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, Judge Emilio Garza, San Antonio, Texas 2011; and Texas Supreme Court, Judge Eva Guzman, Austin, Texas 2012.

    Rick litigates consumer and commercial disputes. He represents creditors, debtors, landlords, real estate companies, and financial institutions, as both plaintiffs and defendants.

    Rick also regularly represents clients in personal injury defense, including general negligence cases, vehicle accidents, premises liability, negligent hiring, negligent supervision, and negligent retention.

    Some notable recent case outcomes include:
    Obtaining a defensive summary judgment on behalf of bank in lender liability suit;
    Obtaining summary judgment on behalf of bank in collection suit;
    Successfully collecting millions of dollars on behalf of judgment creditors in post-judgment suits;
    Obtaining judgment after trial on behalf of consumer services company;
    Successfully negotiating pre and post judgment collection settlements;
    Successfully domesticating Mexican Judgment; and
    Successfully settling a suit against a trucking company regarding a multiple fatality accident.

    Rick is very active in the local Rio Grande Valley community and the State Bar of Texas. Locally, Rick is the past treasurer and is currently the Immediate Past President for the Hidalgo County Bar Association and the Hidalgo County Bar Foundation, and is a Leadership McAllen Graduate. At the state level, Rick is a member of the Texas Bar College, Texas Bar Foundation, Texas Association of Defense Counsel, State Bar of Texas Litigation Section, and is a Leadership State Bar of Texas graduate.
