Adriana Hernandez Cardenas has been practicing law at Atlas, Hall & Rodriguez, LLP since 1997.
Her main area of practice is civil litigation, including complex commercial litigation and personal injury.
Adriana is a Rio Grande Valley native, born and raised in Brownsville, Texas. She received her B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin in 1994. While studying at the University of Texas, Adriana worked for then-Governor Ann Richards, and in 1992 was recognized by Governor Richards for her service to the people of Texas. Adriana interned with the Court of Appeals, First District of Texas in 1995 and received her J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 1997. She was admitted to the Texas bar later that year.
Adriana currently serves on the State Bar of Texas Pattern Jury Charge – General Negligence, Intentional Personal Torts & Workers’ Compensation Committee. She has been a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates since 2012 and is currently a Presidential Appointee to the ABOTA National Board. She serves as the Co-Chair of the National ABOTA Digital Media Committee and is the Chair of the TEX-ABOTA Civics Education – Teacher’s Law School Sub-Committee. Adriana has been the Secretary of the ABOTA Rio Grande Valley Chapter since 2020. Adriana is a member of the Texas Association of Defense Counsel and is a Fellow with the Texas Bar Foundation. She was named a Texas Rising Star (2005 – 2012) and Texas Super Lawyer (2012 – 2022) as awarded by Thompson Reuters and published in Super Lawyers/Texas Monthly magazine. Adriana served two terms on the State Bar of Texas Advertising Review Committee (Member, 2005 – 2009, Vice-Chair 2010 – 2011).
Adriana has been active in local community organizations and programs, including McAllen Youth Soccer Association and Lawyers for Literacy.
